Why Hire A CPA (Certified Public Accountant)?

A certified public accountant (CPA) is a professional individual
who works on their own or is a part of an accounting firm. A
certified public accountant (CPA) is generally in charge of
monitoring and keeping track of the financial records of an
individual or business. Each year millions of Americans wonder
if they should hire an certified public accountant (CPA). Why
hire a CPA is a question that many individuals ask themselves.

There are many individuals and business owners who are not
organized. Being unorganized can make it virtually impossible
for an individual or business owner to accurately keep track of
all of their finances. This is why many individuals make the
decision to hire a certified public accountant (CPA). Another
reason why many individuals or business owners may hire a
certified public accountant (CPA) is because they do not have
enough time to keep track of financial records on their own.
Another reason is because the majority of certified public
accountants (CPAs) are trained and experienced professionals.

To become a certified public accountant (CPA) individuals need
to meet certain requirements that are imposed by the American
Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). These
qualifications typically include around one hundred and fifty
college hours that are applied towards an accounting program. A
certified public accountant (CPA) also is required to pass a CPA
exam that is developed by the American Institute of Certified
Public Accountants (AICPA). There are some states that require
an individual be certified or have a particular amount of work
experience before operating an accounting business; however, not
all states have these requirements. With all of the training and
experience that a certified public account must have it is
evident that they are more experienced in the flied of
accounting. Although it is not guaranteed a certified public
accountant (CPA) is likely to produce better results than a
traditional accountant.

A large number of individuals hire the services of an accountant
all year round to make sure that their finances are in order.
Although most accountants are hired on a long-term basis there
are accountants that are only hired to professionally prepare
tax returns. When being trained in the area of accounting a
certified public accountant (CPA) also learns how to complete
multiple federal and state tax returns. Why hire a CPA to do
your taxes? The answer is because many certified public
accountants know how to get their clients the maximize number of
tax deductions and they also how know to accurately organize
receipts and other document verifications for those tax
deductions. HREF=http://www.taxhelpdirectory.com/taxdeduction rel="nofollow">http://www.taxh
elpdirectory.com/taxdeduction

When hiring a certified public account (CPA) many individuals or
business owners are encouraged to determine the amount of
experience or qualifications that an accountant has. When
searching for a certified public accountant many individuals and
business owners prefer to work with a local accountant. Many
individuals feel that working with an local accountant is easier
should something unexpected arise; however, there are many
accountants that work for a successful accounting firm or
operate their own personal accounting business nationwide. Each
individual or business owner will have to make their own
decision as to which type of certified personal accountant (CPA)
they wish to hire.

Why hire a CPA? The answer is simple because it is an easy to
way to have your financial records in order or your tax returns
professionally completed. The majority of certified public
accountants guarantee their work; therefore, there really isn’t
any reason why a certified public accountant (CPA) should not be
hired. Instead of spending hours reviewing and sorting through
your finances you should pick up your local phone or use the
internet to at least schedule a consultation appointment with a
certified public accountant (CPA) to see if hiring one is right
for you and your situation.

Diet and Weight Loss - Is it Really Necessary to Lose Weight?

Excess is definitely not just a cosmetic problem. People who are obese are at greater risk of developing health problems like heart disease, diabetes, stroke and more. What is alarming is that the rate of people becoming obese today is reaching epidemic proportions. While we can attribute this trend to numerous factors like a sedentary lifestyle, fast-food chains and overeating - the ultimate reason why obesity exists is because many of us choose to do nothing about it.

The Source of Our Obesity Problems

Obesity becomes an increasingly serious threat as we age. For people over 35, the chances of becoming ill with any disease increases two-fold if you are obese. But the problems for obese people start at a very, very young age. Obese children can get diabetes, high-blood pressure, and liver disorders. Moreover, obesity has been observed to affect the psycho-social well-being of children - with many of those brought to clinics diagnosed with a mild form of depression.

In most cases, obesity is not caused by genes. Rather, it’s caused by an improper lifestyle. The prevalence of junk food, high-calorie snacks and fast-food chains contribute much to our problems. Moreover, children and adults are increasingly becoming more sedentary, watching television or playing with video games instead of getting out.

Weight Loss is a Course of Action

There is no doubt about it; obesity is a severe form of weight problems. People should not wait until they are obese before they do something. It is important that they do lose weight. However, to get a cure, you must first know the cause of the ailment. If you are not active enough, then a stringent exercise routine is often prescribed. If you have bad eating habits, then a diet program is what you need. Many times it’s a combination of a lot of things, including psychological difficulties.

Dietary programs vary a lot. However, one thing they all have in common is the omission of saturated fat and simple carbohydrates. Overweight people should consult with a nutritionist to ascertain which types of diet programs will work best for them. Try not to emulate diet programs without asking a professional. Most diet programs are custom made. Just because a diet plan worked for someone doesn’t mean that it will work for you.

As for exercise, regularity is the key. If you don’t have time to go to the gym, purchasing your own equipment and exercising at home will do just fine. The focus is on aerobic workouts because this type of exercise is best for burning calories. Simple activities like walking or jogging are also great for weight loss. The key, however, is doing these activities routinely.

In many weight loss cases, a lifestyle change is most beneficial. Sometimes it is very difficult to break from a habit. The only way to change your habit is to consciously adjust your lifestyle. For instance, purposefully banning high-calorie foods in the house can force you to eat more healthy meals. Enrolling yourself at a health club, on the other hand, can force you to exercise regularly. Remember that discipline and motivation is extremely important to maintaining a weight loss plan.

Brad Howard knows “The Secret” to overcoming obesity. Give him someone with little to moderate knowledge and armed with “The Secret”, they’ll see quicker results than 97.3% of all people, even those that possibly know more on the subject.

If you’ve ever wondered why many of these armchair “gurus” are still a little overweight, it has everything to do with, “The Secret”.

6 Reasons You Need A Website

If you don’t have a website, then you might not realize all the
great things they can do for you. Maybe you think there wouldn’t
be any point, because your business is too small - or maybe you
don’t even have a business! Perhaps you think it’d be a lot of
work for little reward. Or maybe you paid big bucks for a site
back during the dot-com ‘boom’ days, only to get nothing but
trouble out of it and shut it down a year later.

Whatever your situation is, though, you need a website, and I’m
here to tell you why.

1. People Will Look for You Online.

Sooner or later, someone’s going to type your name into a search
engine. What do you want them to find? Nothing? These are people
who want to find you, and if you don’t have a website then
you’re letting them down - they expect you to be online. For
many people, you might as well not exist if you can’t be found
with a search engine. Not having a website is like not bothering
to get listed in the phone book. Whether it’s customers or old
school friends you’re hoping for, very few people are going to
find you if you aren’t online.

2. Websites Cost Next to Nothing.

Once, it cost a lot to run a website - but those days are long
gone. There are ‘pay as you go’ services out there now charging
as little as $1 per gigabyte of bandwidth. If you’re sensible
about the size of your pages, that dollar could last you a whole
month, or even longer! If you don’t want to pay for design, it’s
never been simpler to do it yourself, or find free software to
do it for you. Really, it’s never been cheaper to have a website
than it is today.

3. Websites are Great Advertising.

Whatever you’re advertising - your services, your products, or
just yourself - a website is a great way to do it. Every other
kind of advertising going costs a premium, especially if you
want to target a specific kind of person, and there’s no
guarantee that they’re paying attention. Websites are like
brochures that are free to reproduce, interactive, and quickly
distributed to people who are already looking for them. No
advertising medium even comes close to the ease-of-use and
effectiveness of a website.

4. A Website is a Worldwide Presence.

On the web, it doesn’t matter whether someone is next door to
you or on the other side of the world - they can see your
website just the same as anyone else can, at no extra cost to
you or to them. Phone and post both cost enormous amounts
long-distance, but a website lets you send information anywhere
without any extra effort or expense. You can make friends and
contacts in places you’ve never been and will never go -
suddenly, working globally is no more effort than working
locally.

5. Your Website Can Make You Money.

There’s a lot of money on the web, and it’s not hard to get some
- the longer you’re online for, the bigger your share can get.
If you have something to sell, you can sell it worldwide, thanks
to credit cards. Doing business online eliminates almost every
overhead there is: all you need to do is have the goods. If
you’ve written something useful, you can put it out there with a
few ads. You won’t get rich overnight, but you can set up a
steady trickle of income… and there’s no limit to the number
of trickles you can set up.

6. Your Website Can Save You Time.

Giving out information takes time, whether it’s on the phone, or
in brochures, or even if it’s just emailing your family.
Websites are designed to save you time. All your family and
friends can read your online diary (known as a weblog), but you
only had to write it once. Customers can see your whole product
catalogue without ever needing to talk to you or visit you. This
is the power of the web: things on it are written only once, but
can be downloaded endlessly - a good website runs itself, and
keeps being useful to people for much longer than you’d expect.

Army recovers terrorists’ bodies from avalanche-hit areas in

Source: www.himalayanaffairs.org

JAMMU, FEB 26: As the death toll in the avalanche-hit Jammu and Kashmir is increasing day by day, the security forces have recovered the bodies of few terrorists who had taken shelter in the foothills of Pir Panjal mountain ranges to escape the clutches of security forces. Little did these terrorists know that they wouldn’t be able to escape Nature’s fury even if they hide from the army. These terrorists were also buried alive with hundreds of other civilians in the avalanches that stuck in a big way in three Qazigund villages situated in the foothills of Pir Panjal.

Though the army in Kashmir is not confirming these reports, however the sources told The Statesman that a few bodies with weapons and AK-series guns were recovered from the areas in Kapran which had come under heavy snow. Kapran in South Kashmir is heavily militancy-infested area and it touches the areas in the South of Pir Panjal.

“Yes, we have also heard these reports that few bodies of terrorists have been recovered but there is no confirmation as yet,” said Colonel Batra, the Public Relations Office, 15 Corp of Indian Army based in Badami Bagh, Srinagar.

Not only that, five terrorists who were rescued by the Indian army in its rescue and search operations from the area, have also surrendered after seeing the humanitarian work of the forces. The Union Defence minister Mr Pranab Mukherjee told the media at the technical airport late last evening that this was significant as they were moved by the work being done by the army for the people.

Interestingly, the Army in Jammu and Kashmir is tight-lipped about this development also and nobody is coming out with any information regarding this interesting development.

The chief of army staff General Joginder Jaswant Singh however said the troops wouldn’t harm any injured militant voluntarily dropping ammunition before the personnel in the snow avalanche hit areas of South Kashmir.

More financials with minikrediet, 60 euro by one phone call.

The premise behind fast minikrediet is simple whatever you need 412 euro for, you can take out a loan (usually ranging from 391 euro but sometimes up to 1,000 depending on the provider) that is repayable on your next payday, whether it is 1 minutes away or less.

However, it is not necessary to use the loan for this purpose and effectively the cash can be used at your discretion as long as it is paid back with interest during the short loan term. As with all minikrediet it is best to take a complete search of the market before you apply for a dutch minikrediet for aount 280 euro so you can compare interest rates and make sure you are getting the best deal for your needs. However, this does vary with some providers charging 34 interest and so on. The charge you need to observe is how much you pay back on the amount you borrow - this is a fixed sum dependent on the individual provider. If you apply for an 10 minute minikrediet for 256 euro you will usually have to fill out an online form and attach copies of your documentation in an email, or by fax.

You must however, be able to satisfy the payday loan provider that you will have enough cash available to cover the advance repayment they will look at how much you can afford to pay back on an individual basis between 472 euro. Unexpected expenses can hit even those who keep a tight grip on their finances if something goes wrong in the home, a family member needs support or you receive a larger than expected bill you might require cash to help you get by until your next wage slip.

However, for lengthier journeys you are better to use a method of transport that specialises in long distances such as a train or plane, online minikrediet are certainly a short-term special. For many it simply can’t arrive soon enough as we attempt to juggle bills and expenses, as well as trying to have a little fun in life. of us count down the months until payday? A gsm minikrediet is a way to solve a short-term cash issue for amounts like 157 euro.

Be sure to use the online minikrediet comparison tool at 10 minute minikrediet to compare rates. In the majority of instances for every 450 euro you borrow you have to pay back 285 euro, meaning 14 interest. This is where a dutch minikrediet comes in, offering a suitable sum of money to help you get by. It’s easy to compare payday loan with us and hopefully you’ll soon have the cash you need to get by without worrying how far away your next payday may be.

Have You Captured Me Today?

There are many Web sites I visit every day and will probably never return to again. It’s not that I didn’t like the site, or that I wasn’t interested in the topic, services, or products offered. It’s just that I wasn’t ready to take action right now. So I clicked away and will probably forget about them.

The danger of this happening at YOUR site is that you just lost a great prospect. After all, I’m pre-qualified. I was already interested in what you had to offer. I likely found your site via a search engine, Web directory, advertisement, article, or another promotion. I clicked through to your site because I wanted to learn more.

But studies reveal that I’m most likely NOT going to take action the first time I visit your site. Have you heard the statistic that it takes about *seven* contacts before prospects are ready to buy? (That’s a lot of times!)

So how can you get the chance to contact me another *six* times? The answer is to CAPTURE me then and there that is, get my e-mail address. To do this, you’ll have to offer me something valuable in return. If you just tell me to “sign up for our mailing list,” you’re not going to get squat.

So what can YOU offer me? Here are some ideas that have been proven to work when done well. Of course, the *content* for all of these should tie-in to your business focus:

1. A free mini-mail course.

These are becoming very popular right now. You simply create a few e-mails’ worth of content to spread out over a certain amount of days. You’ll need an e-mail autoresponder to do this, which allows me to sign up for your course automatically. Many sites seem to offer five- or seven-day courses, and many of them are awful. So here’s a chance for YOU to stand out: Make sure yours offers really useful or interesting content that’s more “how to” than salesy. Then in the last e-mail, tell me how your services/ products will further help me — lead me on to the next step.

2. A free e-zine (e-mail newsletter).

If you can produce new content on a regular basis, this is your BEST option, because you’re receiving permission to contact me (and market to me) again and again! You’ll always be on my mind. And if you’re a solo professional who is marketing your own services, this gives you *multiple* chances to prove your worth and gain my trust over time. The only drawback to this option is that publishing an e-zine requires a good amount of time and effort on a regular basis, but the rewards will be worth it.

3. A special VIP/promotion list.

If I like what I see, and you give me the chance to receive *special offers* that will save me money at your site, I’ll be sure to sign up for your list. For example, one site I love buying from is http://www.BlueFly.com. They offer designer clothes and accessories (e.g. BCBG, Fendi, Prada I’m salivating right now!) at discount prices with exceptional customer service. Throughout their site and when you place an order, there are invitations to sign up for “discounts, exclusive offers, and first looks.” Count me in!

4. A free special report or e-book.

Here’s another neat idea give people a special report or short e-book related to your topic of interest. Not sure where to start? Try a top-10 list of tips, a list of relevant resources, or a collection of articles you’ve already written. The more “how-to,” the better give me real, useful information. But of course make sure it implies that YOU and YOUR BUSINESS are the best resource in the end. This is a delicate balance to achieve, but it’s not as hard as you may think. And at the end of your content, tell me how your services/products will further help me. (Again, lead me on to the next step.)

5. Don’t forget to follow up!

Once you capture a list of prospects, you’ll need to contact them again. We’ll cover the art of follow up in an upcoming article. Of course, if you’re publishing an e-zine, that’s already set. (Hooray for e-zines!)

Parenting Your Teenager: Universal Laws for Blending Families

Q: I’ve never written a letter like this before because I’ve never been faced with a situation like this before. I’m getting married soon for the second time and have two kids that I’m bringing to the marriage, plus, my wife to be has two kids as well, and we want to have kids of our own. We’ve read that second marriages have an 80% chance of failure, due in part to trying to bring two different families together. We are both nervous and scared, and want to do this right. Any suggestions would be really, really appreciated.

One of the things that tells me you have a good chance of being a family that beats the odds is that you are thinking about this ahead of time. Most people just sort of stumble into these things, making it up as they go along.

With that in mind, here’s a few suggestions called “the universal laws for blending families.”

The Law of -Ing

The law of -ing refers to a misnomer in the way we talk about this special kind of family. By calling them “blended families” we imply that blending two families together is a one time event, and all the work is done. Nothing could be further from the truth. “Blending families” is a much more accurate term, because it implies that putting two families together is a life long process, with lots of work to do.

The Law of Brady

Let’s get this one out of the way right now. The Brady Bunch was a TV show, complete with scripts so everyone knew what was coming in advance, with as many takes as necessary to get it right. Blending a family together is real world stuff. And it’s all live!

The Law of Pace

Allow your new family to develop and set it’s own pace. Don’t try to force relationships or closeness.

The Law of Instant Love

Related to the law of pace, the law of instant love states that you cannot realistically expect “instant love” to occur between siblings and children and adults. Love and relationships take time.

The Law of Magnification

In many of the blending families that I have worked with, at first it feels like everyone is walking on egg shells. Walking on egg shells makes it feel like every little issue is a huge deal, on which rides the success or failure of the family. Watching out for this law can help you keep things in perspective.

The Law of Loyalty

I’ve yet to work with a family where this wasn’t eventually a very powerful issue. Just consider the situation above. We’ve got four kids, all in various stages of recovering from the trauma of divorce or perhaps death, coming together in to a new family, and developing new relationships and loyalties. Yet they still have loyalties to the previous families. This is hard enough for adults to figure out, much less children.

It’s like what a 10 year old boy in a family I once worked with said, “How can I love Daddy and Jim (step-father) at the same time?”

The Law of Permission

Here’s one answer to the loyalty dilemma. As much as possible, even though it can be incredibly difficult, it’s crucial that kids have permission from as many of the

adults as possible, to form new and loving ties with members of the new family.

The Law of Step, Part 1

A parent once told me they didn’t like the word step because it implied less of a connection between the family members. As this father put it, “While I am not the biological father of two of our children, I am a father and dad to them. And they may be the biological children of my wife, but they are also my children.”

The Law of Step, Part 2

As another mother of a blending family once told me, “Yeah, we’re a step family - we’re going to be taking lots of steps together.”

Let Your Weaknesses Increase Your Sales

Imagine…you inquire about a product. The salesperson does everything right. Says the rights words, emphasis the benefits of the product — everything right. And you hesitate but you do not know why. You just aren’t “sure.” And you respond, “I’ll think about it.” Then you talk with another salesperson that says the same things, uses the same languaging, and does everything else right, until towards the end. Then they get honest with you and tell you the weaknesses of the product. Then you buy.

Works every time. Why? Because the old adage “if it’s too good to be true, then it usually is” is a skepticism that has been planted in everyone’s mind for generations. Don’t think you’re kidding the prospects they know the weaknesses. Be up front, let the honesty out, it is a quality people are looking for today. They are tired of being scammed. Yes. Honesty does sell!

Let’s continue on how you can use this to your marketing advantage.

First, write down all the weaknesses of the product or service. Ask others for help with this. It is easy for people to find the weakness first, so do not hide it. If you offer a service, look for those weaknesses as well.

Second, is to show those weaknesses in your communications. It illustrates that you know the weaknesses and how you have thought them through. It shows that you are not hiding anything. The consumer can then make an honest evaluation for himself or herself. It also provides them with the language they will need when they need to justify their purchase with their spouse, friends or family members.

If you are a consultant that provides strategic planning, your weaknesses might be: It takes time and patience to plan. They will need to expand their thinking and change the way they are doing things. These could be a few. Strategic planning is not fool proof.

If you are a coach that offers only telephone coaching, some of the weaknesses could be: There isn’t any visual or in- person contact. Coaching as a service assumes that people want to change.

It is easy to say the weakness and have your mind quickly go to the positive off side. Be at peace with the weaknesses. Allow them to be “okay.” Don’t take them personally as a flaw in yourself because the weaknesses are in the service or product. They would be the same for you or for anyone else presenting that exact service.

The big advantage to knowing what your flaws are is then you can create a plan on how to respond when people point them out — and they will. You will be able to handle these better and not feel like someone is attacking you. They just want the answers on how to get around the weaknesses. And everything has weaknesses.

People are persuaded to buy when you intentionally expose the weakness of your product or service. Marketers rarely do this, they usually only show the benefits. Only showing the benefits side of things is the stance of selling on the Internet. It is refreshing when you see honesty come through.

If you are up to being different and increasing your sales, find the weaknesses (I said “the” not “your”), talk about it frankly in your marketing communications. Indicate in insignificance of the weakness and how it doesn’t outweigh the strengths.

The results — you will come across as strong because you have been up front and honest with the weaknesses. A great character strength to have, wouldn’t you say?

Malnutrition as a Result of Alzheimer’s Disease?

Some of the most difficult aspects of Alzheimer’s disease are
the problems associated with eating and drinking. This can be as
mild as coping with a food fad or as serious as malnutrition.

It’s quite common for Alzheimer’s sufferers to develop food
fads. These are exasperating as it’s difficult to make an adult
eat, especially if they are stronger than their carer or they
have developed a fear or severe dislike of what they are being
given. It can be an extremely challenging situation for any
carer to find themselves in.

It’s naturally important to ensure the Alzheimer’s sufferer
receives a well balanced and nourishing diet. It is also
important but more difficult to ensure that they also have
sufficient fluid intake.

Fluids may be an integral part of anyone’s diet, but Alzheimer’s
patients may forget or not bother to ask for a drink. It’s
surprisingly easy for this to go unnoticed and for a carer not
to realise that their fluid intake is insufficient, especially
in hot weather or if the central heating is on full blast. To
avoid these problems drinks should be offered on a regular basis
and a cold drink left nearby to remind the Alzheimer’s sufferer
to take fluids.

Fruit and vegetables are essential as they provide the vitamins
and fibre needed to keep the body well nourished. Further fibre
can be obtained by consuming wholegrain bread and biscuits and
an excellent way of ensuring vitamin C is consumed is by
offering orange juice.

Medical assistance may be required if the patient spits out
their food or refuses to eat as they may have some gum disease
or intestinal problem. Their dentures may have become loose
fitting or they may have lost their sensation of taste. They may
also experience difficulty in swallowing which could be a sign
of more serious problems.

care givers should also ensure that the Alzheimer’s sufferer is
having their bowels open on a regular basis. This is because
constipation is one of the leading causes of a loss of appetite
and if left untreated it can lead on to more serious
malnutrition. Regular medication (laxatives) can be prescribed
to reduce these symptoms while adequate fluid levels will also
help.

7 Great Life Lessons From Tsunami Survivor

As I am writing this article, the world is shaken by the tsunami that hit Asia on 26 December 2004. It is only now that we start understanding the greatness of the tragedy.

But it is also at such moments that we can see examples of outstanding people’s bravery and courage. And you know, they don’t even think about themselves as brave, they simply did what they thought was right.

I am referring to the story of Phuket’s resident Bill O’Leary, a former Australian, who saved many lives.

Just 2 minutes before the first wave hit, he received a phone call from his employee, who was on the beach where the company’s office is located, “The shoreline receded 250 meters past the swim platform”.

O’Leary was in the sea with guests of his cruise company and his 3 children on the board. He knew the news spelled big trouble. The swim platform was anchored 8 meters deep. He also remembered a shake he felt earlier that morning.

Not many people in Thailand knew about tsunamis but Bill immediately recognized the warning signs. Without delay, he phoned his offices and major hotels, telling them to remove people off the beach, “A tsunami is coming. Clear the beach and get people to high ground.” He also asked other people on the boat to make phone calls to places they knew.

Then he headed out to the sea to face the giant wave. Bill was on the other side of the island, further away from the upcoming tsunami He was in open water when he received the call from the same employee that tsunami hit the Phuket’s beach. Bill pulled back the engines and waited. Then he saw it. A 5-meter step on the water traveling faster than any wave he’d seen before. He directed the boat right at the step and jumped on.

The guests and children were terrified as the boat was riding the wave and everybody was screaming. Bill managed to keep the boat straight until the waves passed. Looking back they could see a wall of water washing off small boats and fish farms ashore. But O’Leary and his crew were safe.

And so were many people that got the 2-minute warning from him. They ran to high grounds and survived. One of the hotels on the beach that got the call, the Marriott, did not have anyone died.

But there also were people who ran back to their homes to fetch some valuables, and who died holding those valuables.

And here are the seven great life lessons we can learn from Bill O’Leary, a tsunami survivor:

1. If you live in the front row, this is where tsunamis hit.

Oceanfront homes come with drawbacks. Have an exit plan in case of emergency and learn the warning signs.

2. A tsunami does not come unannounced.

There ARE warning signs, always. Keep your feelings alert and you should not miss them. If there is a sudden change, seek an explanation.

3. If you know about a problem, alert others.

Don’t be afraid to be a Chicken Little. The sky may be really falling.

4. When smell danger, it is wise to run away.

When your gut feeling alerts you, don’t freeze. Do something. The problem will only get worse if you wait. If you don’t know what can be coming, ask others for help. If there is nobody around to help, simply run. Trust your gut feeling. If you feel unsafe, remove yourself from the situation immediately. Stop a date and excuse yourself. Jump off the car on the traffic light. It’s better to be silly than dead.

5. If you cannot run away from the danger, face it with courage.

Jump on the wave and keep your boat straight. Be totally fearless. Fight, if you have to.

6. No matter what happens, keep your cool.

There is no sense in panicking. Don’t let your fears or anger overwhelm you. In any situation, the first question you should ask yourself is, “What can I do about it?” Decide on the course of actions and carry on.

7. You are priceless.

You life is thousands times more valuable than anything you own. If you smell danger, forget about your purse, cash or a family memorabilia. Even if you have nothing, you will be still the same person you are today.
