Ken Mehlman and the Community
Apart from his contribution to politics, Ken Mehlman has also done great service to the community. Focusing on community activities that revolve around education, economic mobility and problems about the environment, he actively takes part in various outings related to educational reform and the dangers and realities of global warming. He is affiliated with various non-government organizations and is actively involved in encouraging the younger generation to vote.
Ken Mehlman is a committee member, as well as a trustee, of the US Holocaust Memorial Museum. He is a member of the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Memorial Foundation cabinet as an executive leader and has been acknowledged in the newsletter of MLK Memorial.
Being an advocate of education, he, along with his KKR partner, Mark Lipschultz, attended the Seattle ceremony for Washington governors that handed out four-year scholarships to graduates of 35 Foster Care System.
In the environmental field, Ken Mehlman is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations Climate Change Task Force. It was cited on Fox news that the former Republican National Committee chairman stated that the Republicans should not take climate change for granted.
